How to split pdf

    Either split every page into its own file, or type the pages you want to keep — for example 1-3, 7, 10-12.

  3. Split and download

    Press Split PDF. A single extraction downloads as one file; splitting every page gives you a ZIP containing all of them.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Splitting runs in your browser using JavaScript, so the file stays on your device. You can confirm this by opening your browser devtools Network tab while splitting — there are no upload requests.

How do I write the page range?

Use single pages, ranges, or a mix: 1-3, 7, 10-12. Spaces are ignored, order does not matter, and repeated pages are only included once. Pages are numbered from 1.

What's the difference between splitting and extracting?

Splitting every page produces one PDF per page, delivered as a ZIP. Extracting a range produces a single PDF containing just the pages you chose, in document order.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied across without re-encoding, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. A PDF with an open password has to be unlocked first, using a password you know. Once unlocked, it splits like any other file.

Why is the ZIP roughly the same size as my PDF?

PDFs are already compressed internally, so zipping them again saves almost nothing. We store the files in the ZIP rather than recompressing, which makes the download noticeably faster and doesn't cost you any size.
