About PDFCasa

PDFCasa is a free set of tools for the small, everyday jobs people have with PDF and image files: merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, converting, resizing. No sign-up, no watermarks, and — the part that actually matters — no uploading.

Why your files stay on your device

Most online file tools work by taking your document, sending it to their server, doing the work there, and sending it back. That model made sense fifteen years ago. It no longer does: a modern browser is perfectly capable of merging a PDF or compressing a photo on its own, and a lease, a contract, or a scan of your passport should not have to visit a stranger's server to get rotated.

So PDFCasa does the work locally. When you pick a file, it is processed in your browser's memory and the result is saved straight back to your device. Nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab destroys everything. This is not a policy promise that depends on trusting us — it is how the tools are built, and you can watch the network tab while they run if you'd like to check.

It is also simply faster. There is no upload, no queue, and no download — on a slow connection, sending the file usually takes longer than the actual work.

Who makes it

PDFCasa is built and run by one person — me, Rahman. I started as a software engineer in 2005, and the two decades since have taken me through most of what a software career covers: writing code, leading teams, shipping products across several countries and industries. The part that never changed is the approach — understand the actual problem, then build something that works for the person using it, not just for a demo.

This site applies that experience alongside a newer one: using AI to build and ship real things faster than a solo developer could a few years ago. It's one of a few small, deliberately scoped projects I build the same way — pick a real problem, solve it properly, and skip the growth-hacking. There is no growth team, no venture funding to satisfy, and no interest in harvesting data. The goal is narrow: tools that load fast, do the job, and leave you alone.

How it stays free

There are no ads on the site today. The plan is to fund it with display advertising, and when that starts the trade will be disclosed plainly: ads on the page, never inside your files, and never anything that reads them. Because processing happens on your device, the tools cost almost nothing to run — which is why there are no artificial limits, no metering, and no paywall on the basics, and why that is not going to change when the ads arrive.

What's next

The site is young and new tools ship regularly. A few planned features — such as AI-powered background removal — genuinely need a server to work. Any tool like that will say so on its page, clearly, before you choose a file; everything else stays local. The details of how files and data are handled are in the Privacy Policy.
