Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The signature is drawn and embedded in your browser using JavaScript, so your file stays on your device. You can confirm this by opening your browser devtools Network tab while working — there are no upload requests.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
That depends on your jurisdiction and what the document is for, not on the tool that drew it — the same is true of any e-signature product. This produces a visual signature embedded in the page content, without the certificate-based signing, identity verification, or audit trail some legal and regulatory contexts specifically require. For anything with real legal weight, check what your situation actually needs before relying on this.
Can I drag the signature to an exact position?
Not pixel by pixel — you choose one of six positions (a corner, top or bottom, or centred) rather than dragging it freely. That trade-off keeps this a single, fast step instead of a full page editor; if you need it somewhere a preset doesn't cover, sign near the closest position and crop or adjust in a PDF editor afterward.
Can I sign more than one page, or send this to someone else to sign?
Not from this tool — it signs one page per run, and there's no way to send the document onward for someone else's signature. Run it again on the result to add a second signature elsewhere, or use a proper multi-party e-signature service for anything that needs more than one signer.
Can the signature be removed afterward?
It's drawn as real page content, not a separate layer — the same way a watermark or page number here works. Removing it needs a PDF editor capable of erasing page content directly, which is more friction than accidentally toggling a layer off in a viewer.
Can I sign a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Unlock it first, using a password you know, then sign the result.
